Voice Control for Lichess Games

Speak to Lichess is a Chrome extension developed by Speak2Lichess that allows you to play Lichess games using voice control. This open source extension utilizes the Web Speech API to interpret voice data and the Lichess Board API to read the board state and submit moves.

With Speak to Lichess, you can enjoy full voice control in Rapid, Classical, and Correspondence time formats, where your spoken moves are automatically played without the need for additional keyboard or mouse input. However, for faster time formats like Blitz, some keyboard input is required, and moves must be in SAN format.

While standard games are fully supported, alternative modes such as crazyhouse or 'from position' may not process SAN format moves correctly when submitting with the API.

To effectively dictate moves, you can specify English piece names and even add word corrections for other languages. The extension is particularly useful for slower time formats and blindfolded chess.
